Mr. Quiggly Finishes First Among Super Bowl Ads

Maybe it was simply the fact that I was at Super Bowl party with a group of self-proclaimed lovers of moon-walking French bulldogs, but the newest ad for Skechers – which told the story of Mr. Quiggly (a late-entry, dark horse contestant in a greyhound race) – was among the only commercials that managed to grasp the attention of the entire room. Conversation ceased and drinks were sat down as we all watched it awe. Would this literal underdog actually defy the odds? Would he overcome adversity and win the race? And more importantly, would he actually achieve the unthinkable and generate more interest in the brand than the great Kim Kardashian had in last year’s spot for everyone’s favorite glute-enhancing sneakers? Click HERE to watch the ad (via The Huffington Post) and decide for yourself.

I would also like to give an honorable mention to the New York Giants’ Ahmed Bradshaw for his attempted recreation of the ad during his game-winning touchdown.
